Flying is fun

Please bear with me as this is my first time posting a blog and I'm not sure how interesting it will be right now. But anyway, here's my morning. I wake up to be at the airport for my flight at 8:45am. I am flying on a American Airline Connection flight. Keep in mind, I'm not fond of flying, I have just learned to tolerate it. This is also only my second trip on my own, no spouse. So I talk to myself this morning telling myself that I will be able to leave my kids and not have a breakdown, the plane will be bigger than I think and the flight is only an hour and a half. No big deal. Well, I screwed up on my check-in and didn't get a boarding pass until we are boarding the plane! So I get the very last assigned seat which happens to be in the very front of the plane next to the window which would be fine had a not had to sit next to someone that really should have been made to buy two seats. I feel terrible as I am not a skinny minny and I need all the room my seat allows, but I literally couldn't move during my flight! So 45 minutes into the flight, the pilot comes over the intercom saying we are returning to our departure airport due to a "maintenance issue". I don't know about you but I'm thinking a "maintenance issue" at 30,000 feet is a problem! But alas, we land with no fire department greeting, they put us on another plane and I make it to my destination 2 hours later! I survived, but wow, what a morning! I will never again agree to fly on a connection flight just because it's a non-stop flight!!
